Three new competitors will join the Toughest Monster Truck Tour this winter, joining Aaron Cain in Quad Chaos and Jamey Garner in their efforts to de-thrown 4-time defending champion Dan Runte in BIGFOOT®.
Lafayette Indiana’s Jerry Beck will debut the “Dirt Crew” – a monster sized RAM dump truck in Southaven, MS on January 8-9. Beck and his wife Jessica also own the Quad Chaos entry driven by Aaron Cain making an incredibly unique pair of trucks. The Becks are long time excavating contractors, so the dump truck theme was a natural fit for them and will surely be a huge hit with the fans.
Another new machine on tour is the Dawg Pound driven by Vern House. Dawg Pound carries on the ‘rat rod’ theme from it’s previous identity, the ‘River Rat’ and sports a custom 1941 Willys delivery truck body.
The final new contender is the Heavy Hitter driven by former boxer Derick Anson. Anson is a seasoned veteran driver in many forms of motorsports and has his Silverado monster truck dialed in. An equal threat in wheelies, racing and freestyle, he has what it takes to win the 2016 TMT Championship.
Returning to the tour this winter are Dan Runte in BIGFOOT® 21, Aaron Cain in Quad Chaos and Jamey Garner in the beautiful Over Bored. 2016 is rumored to be Runte’s last year competing full time, which means he will definitely want to go out on top. Rookie Aaron Cain showed tremendous potential all year in his monster ATV, and Garner in his 3rd year continues to improve his racing abilities and is not afraid to deliver the “wow” moments in freestyle.
A revised points system will be in place for 2016. With the same 6 trucks competing in 19 events, points will now be cumulative instead of only an equal number of high scores counting. This should make the competition easier to follow for the fans, and also raise the bar later in the season.
