Created by Bob Chandler
Bigfoot was created in 1975 by Bob Chandler when he modified his 1974 Ford F 250 pickup truck so that it would perform better when he was racing and 4-wheeling. One thing led to another and Chandler opened a shop with his wife Marilyn and his friend Jim Kramer to fill this need for others who had the same problem.
The Bigfoot team led the way to new innovations which resulted in the first monster truck that had 66″ tires and the first to attempt driving over and crushing two cars. He was asked to perform this again in front of a crowd at an event in Missouri and shortly after, in 1981, performed this in front of a huge crowd at a tractor pull at the Silverdome (former home of the Detroit Lions). People went nuts and just a few years later the monster truck industry was born which quickly evolved into the family friendly shows you see today.
